Richard Mille releases RM 67-01 automatic ultra-thin watch
Richard Mille (Richard Mille) launched the new Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat shoes last week, which caught us by surprise. Of course we have heard complaints that the ultra-luxury watch manufacturer also provided an extra flat watch, but honestly, we did not expect it to be so flat. At first glance, although it seems that Mr. Miller has been hit again, we must wait until SIHH officially launches the watch next year.
RM 67-01 automatic super level
When most people think of Richard Miller when timing, they always think of two synonyms first. Expensive and chunky (or variations). The brand is not known for its delicate timepieces sliding carefully under the cuffs, but for creating unique, usually barrel-shaped watches that make them feel on the wrist. After all, this can be said to be one of the reasons why Richard Mille is so popular among upstarts. If so, show it off?
Surprisingly, it seems that not every Richard Mille fan wants to spread their love for the brand to the world (or their financial luck – a prerequisite for having RM) 67-01 Automatic Extra comes in flat here.
The dimensions of the RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat are 38.7mm x 47.52mm x 7.75mm, which can reasonably be called “slimming”, although in those sizes, the violet color on the wrist does not shrink completely. The irony is that although overall there is less, it actually requires a lot of work to complete this work. After all, this is the first time Richard Mille’s trademark barrel shape is made with an additional flat shape, so they really have to return to this aspect.
Of course, the most obvious starting point is the movement. The RM 67-01 self-winding watch is designed inside Richard Mille, equipped with a new self-winding movement CRMA6, and its thickness is only 3.6mm. The bottom plate and bridge are made of grade 5 titanium alloy and are treated with gray and black plasma. The weight of the winding rotor is platinum.
As you can see from the photo, the front and back of the movement are heavily skeletonized. Richard Mille believes that part of the reason for this is to give the RM 67-01 automatic ultra-thin watch a sense of depth, which is not a superfluous feat. For example, the dial structure is designed to bring the eyes in three layers from the edge of the bezel to the hour and minute hands in the center area, while the rear of the movement is equipped with a large open barrel, rotor, advancing chain and automatic The winding mechanical watch bridge is fully visible through the sapphire caseback.
On the back of the dial, the RM 67-01 self-winding mechanical watch displays only the time and date, in a relatively easy-to-read format, using the oversized Arabic numerals popular on Richard Mille timepieces. You will also notice that between 1 o’clock and 2 o’clock, there is a function indicator for winding, date and hand setting. When you pull the crown out, the indicator moves, so you can quickly check your settings and adjust them as needed.
Richard Mille believes that another key component of thin watches fake is the case. In order to make the RM 67-01 automatic ultra-thin automatic mechanical grade 5 titanium case just right, all the stops are pulled out. The structure of the barrel-shaped case is very complicated, but the brand says that the refined size of the new case takes more time than other similar cases in the series, and it takes almost 6 hours of pure processing time in total, not to mention It takes weeks of preparation work. Therefore, it is not surprising to know that each case is the result of more than 215 separate processing operations, not even considering the manual brushing and polishing required to obtain the final product.
Although this is not the first time we have seen Richard Mille’s thinner case – the round case RM 033 Extra Flat paved the way – RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat definitely deviates significantly from our larger product. It used to be seen from the brand in the past, so it is interesting to note that this new watch has been proved by Richard Mille’s traditionally masculine crowd.
