HYT H2 tradition
HYT H2 traditionally combines “HYDRO MECHANICS” and high-end watch technology, blending the concept of partial dispersion into a brilliance effect.
On the morning of the wedding, the prospective British bride wears or carries “old things, new things, borrowed things, blue things…” She usually rides the wedding car to church with her father. After that, the lady about to get married will walk up the aisle of the church, link the weapon with her father, and he will “send her away.”
After the wedding, the newlyweds and guests will go to a suitable place for a “wedding breakfast”. After a meal is over, the bride’s father, the groom and the “best man” will give a speech in order.
The reason for referring to the usual agreement when “knotting” is that tradition provides a framework for many people to choose their lives. indeed. The concept of “traditional” reduces risk and imparts a sense of familiarity.
HYT is not a brand that I would immediately associate with “traditional”. The style of the clock can be properly described as avant-garde. In addition to traditional knowledge, the promise of “avant-garde” or “cutting-edge” design can often bring amazing freshness and technological advancement. However, according to its definition, the “cutting edge” concept represents a certain degree of risk. In addition, by giving up conventions and knowledge gained over generations, a new idea, although technically excellent and well executed, may be out of reach for conservative thinkers.
Since its establishment in 2012, HYT has been releasing innovative products full of modern flavor. The company is commendable for its courage in taking its own unique route along the business route from the rift. The smart courage of this Swiss brand has won widespread praise and led to an enviable position in which demand exceeds supply.
Now, HYT combines breakthrough modern style and “hydraulic mechanical” originality with reassuring “tradition”.
dial
Other fans of HYT will be familiar with the glass capillaries surrounding the dial area. This Neuchâtel-based company offers a variety of models, each with the best pairing and vivid color tones, indicating current working hours. Personally, I always find the blue water-based liquid particularly attractive, and I still have the pursuit of H1 iceberg.
The white lacquered hour ring on HYT H2 Tradition provides the first classicism. The pure appearance of the pure white surface provides an excellent foil for the black Roman numerals to communicate with the measured tones. Adjacent to the white ring, the golden details sparkle, enhancing the sense of luxury.
Under normal circumstances, the minutes on the HYT H2 are indicated by the combination of the centered pointer and the minute ring surrounding the dial area. However, HYT H2 traditionally displays the minutes on a white lacquered dial and is equipped with 4N gold. The subdial is shiny and uses black Arabic numerals and slender brush strokes to display the minutes. This element of the dial is reminiscent of timepieces of the past. The hollow blue pointer enhances this retro style.
The smaller running seconds indicator is located on the plane below the minute display. This exquisite manipulation of the height gives the perspective three-dimensional sense. Similarly, the white lacquered details, 4N gold and blue hands together enhance the sense of tradition.
HYT always attracts customers with its charming perspective. These bellows are located in the southern part of the dial and move up and down diligently. The HYT H2 tradition has inherited this reputation, but in this case, it presents a beautifully decorated motherboard. The rhodium-plated nickel silver surface is decorated with diamond guilloches. HYT once again respectfully put the hat on the handmade craftsmanship of the past, and in the process showed a spectacular beauty.
At 2 o’clock is the crown position indicator, which has a shiny bevel and another blue pointer.
Although the hours, minutes and seconds are displayed unconventionally on the HYT H2 Tradition, the dial is still very clean, allowing clear communication with the wearer.
case
The HYT H2 Tradition has a diameter of 48.8 mm and a case height of 17.9 mm, showing the proportions of behemoths, which may scare some potential buyers. However, please try it before putting the watch too large. Unexpectedly, the watch is very comfortable. I use the word “surprisingly”, but to be honest, I have felt the friendly support of several HYT timepieces before and have always appreciated the comfort that the brand gives to the wearer of the model.
Part of the secret that achieves a pleasant combination between the case and the case can be attributed to the tendency of the short lugs and the integrated strap to aim downwards, apparently wishing to wrap around the wrist.
The case is made of platinum and titanium. It has reassuring quality without being clumsy. A series of case treatments include polished, micro-sprayed and satin-finished surfaces, which coexist harmoniously to provide outstanding synergistic effects.
Invite the wearer to approach the case and observe the dial through the sapphire glass frame. The side view attracts curious eyes to study the various components presented in the dial area.
The crown is located at 2 o’clock and has a knurled handle that tapers near its front edge and ends in a vertical plane. Similar to the case, the crown is larger, but it does not strike the wrist. The size of the crown is useful when winding watches or pendulum hands.
On the back of the watch, the display case allows the wearer to view more movements.
movement
The “exclusive movement” that powers the HYT H2 tradition is the same as the manual winding movement in the HYT H2 Full Gun, although in this case it has a different surface decoration, including more of the above-mentioned diamond guilloches. The bridge is stainless steel, micro-sprayed and polished. This material is difficult to handle, making the flawless finish of the beveled inner corners even more impressive.
The V-shaped bellows layout of the H2 movement was conceived by the creative talents of HYT and Audemars Piguet Renaud and Papi. Surprisingly, although the movement needs to push two bellows pumps, it still provides a huge power reserve of 192 hours.
The discussion about modern and classical aesthetics extends to the movement in the HYT H2 tradition. On the one hand, the bellows pump shows originality and enviable technical strength. On the contrary, the guilloche patterns and eye-catching decorations on the main board draw on the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional Swiss high-end watches.
Concluding remarks
HYT H2 Tradition shares a lot of mechanical expertise with its H2 Full Gun, but the appearance is quite different. The off-road style of H2 Tradition cleverly combines modernity and classicism.
The risk of bravely accepting blue sky thinking is that in the pursuit of uniqueness, functions may be compromised. Fortunately, despite the unusual characteristics of H2 Tradition, it is a practical ownership proposition and is very suitable for everyday wear.
The dial is simple and easy to read. The comfort of the wearer is excellent, allowing free movement of the wrist.
I find that one of the most impressive aspects of the H2 tradition is the finishing of the stainless steel bridge. Compared to brass or silver surfaces, they require more time to chamfer, but provide a unique appearance that can be refurbished more effectively.
“Tradition” brings comfort, while “modern” brings excitement and originality. In this case, HYT cleverly combined these seemingly completely different features and produced an excellent timepiece.
