For the first time, Jacob & Co. reproduced all eight planets on the dial, surrounding the majestic sun, composed of citrine showing Jacob Cut® 288 facets, which is a new milestone in its representation of the earth in the solar system.
The hand-carved earth rotates around its axis every 60 seconds, and the dial rotates once in 10 minutes. The same is true for the flying tourbillon and the hour and minute dials, which form a single component. The hand-wound JCAM19 movement specially built for Astronomia Solar is faster than any previous movement in the Astronomia series, despite its smaller size and new features.
