Focus on RM 029 automatic winding Le Mans classic
Since the establishment of the Le Mans Classic in 2002, Richard Mille has been a partner of the event, and in celebration of its 20th anniversary, launched a legendary racing timepiece: the RM 029 automatic winding Le Mans Classic. The watch factory has been working with North Thin Ply Technology® (NTPT®) since 2013-when it released the RM 011 Carbon NTPT®-and continued to cooperate, but using another material: quartz. Although similar to the production of carbon NTPT®, the difference in quartz TPT® is the use of silica fibers. Although the watchmaking company has adopted this material with higher durability and heat resistance, it has not stood still. The RM 029 automatic winding Le Mans classic is a “live” proof of this, because Richard Mille introduced the first bezel made of two quartz colors: green TPT® quartz inlaid with white TPT® quartz strips. The material structure produced by the TPT® manufacturing process makes this technical challenge possible.
