Zenith Pilot Type 20 Extra Special Cohiba Maduro 5 Edition

Another smoking drop from Zenith and Cohiba.

While this special edition collection commemorates Zenith’s collaboration with high-end cigar maker Cohiba, even non-smokers can appreciate the sexy tan timepiece.

The Pilot Type 20 Extra Special Cohiba Maduro is from the Pilot Type 20 collection, which was launched in 2017 with a retro style reminiscent of World War II pilot watches, available in two versions: rose gold; and a bronze chronograph. Both come in a 45mm case.

The choice of metal is spot on. Although the Pilot Type 20 has a solid design DNA, the polished rose gold case is ideal for a chronograph dial, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the watch. On the other hand, the bronze case (pictured below) provides the perfect foil for the chronograph’s inherent sportiness, which changes over time.

Elsewhere, the design features that made the Pilot Type 20 popular continue to define the limited edition, such as beveled rims, integrated sloping lugs and the signature fluted onion-shaped crown. Again, the dial design remains the same, with the exception of the Cohiba logo below the Zenith at 12 o’clock. The top replica watch‘s limited edition number, the words “Cohiba Maduro 5” and the image of the cigar maker’s factory are engraved on the titanium caseback as the final stamp of the collection.
