Jacob & Co. Celebrates the Epic X with a New Collection of Four Watches
The Epic X has become a major feat in Jacob & Co watchmaking, setting a trend for those who love skeleton style watches. The design spawned the brand’s Epic X Chrono and Epic X Tourbillon, as well as the Epic X line, which now has four iterations.
Each watch has a 44mm case and a specific color story, but focuses on the Calibre JCAM45 skeleton theme. There is a wide barrel at 12 o’clock and a balance wheel at 6 o’clock. These markings are enhanced by vertical bridges that run between them and feature a Parisian stud guilloche pattern that brings extra texture and light to the watch.
In the collection we see Epic X “Stainless Steel” with blue accents, 18kt “Rose Gold” with black accents, “Black DLC Steel” with black accents and a honeycomb rubber strap, and finally Vibrant “Rose Gold” with green accents and a honeycomb rubber strap.
Specifically, each shares a height of 13.05mm, with a sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback. They are also water resistant to 50 m.
Jacob & Co.’s new Epic X Chrono Tourbillon is redefining luxury sports watches
Today, respected jeweler and watchmaker Jacob & Co. unveils the latest addition to its legendary Epic X collection: the Epic X Chrono Tourbillon in a bold blue colorway. With this new limited edition of just 99 pieces, Jacob & Co. continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking with this 47mm and ergonomic timepiece, ultimately redefining luxury sports watches with a fresh perspective.
Like many of Jacob & Co.’s creations, the Epic X Chrono Tourbillon is not only eye-catching, but incorporates rare features throughout the design. The watch features X-shaped lugs—the original X pattern for which the Epic X series is named—that slope sharply to secure the case seamlessly on the wrist. Beneath the vibrant blue translucent dial is the new, exclusive self-winding movement, the JCAA09 calibre, with a flying tourbillon, finally propelling this watch into a new echelon of ultra-luxury sports watches. Proving to be a fully functional dive watch, its titanium case is water-resistant to 200 meters, and the last ten minutes on the black minute ring are a valuable feature for divers as it indicates that they are running out of oxygen.
The Epic X Chrono Tourbillon features a titanium case with a rare PVD blue coating that makes the surface harder to scratch and is a true work of art with innovative features.
The strap, bezel, case back and crown guard are made of ultra-light metal, and the crown, pushers and angular lugs are contoured with high-precision white ceramic inserts. The front and case back are covered with anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and the dial and case back are also added with colored mineral crystals. This piece comes with a white rubber strap that showcases a central honeycomb pattern – another design that pays homage to the original Epic X design. replica watches for sale
