A Phosphorescent Twist To Three Of Its Most Popular Designs
G-SHOCK holds a unique position in the world of watches, transcending its humble pursuit of creating an ultra-tough watch into a bonafide fashion icon and streetwear staple. While the brand has, of course, expanded to offer more premium options, it maintains a wide variety of watches that maintain a price point of just a hair over $100 without sacrificing anything in terms of utility, style, or toughness. All this is to say, G-SHOCK is, first and foremost, a watch of the people. And, I will go out on a limb and say that the people love something that glows in the dark – my kind of people, at least. So by that logic, combining the already nostalgia-laden vessel of fan-favorite G-SHOCK models with a glow-in-the-dark dial is a sure recipe for digital watchmaking magic – especially when the price is a mere $110.
Taking the form of three of G-SHOCK’s most distinctive model families – the 6900 series, the GA700 series, and the 2100 series, respectively – the recently released Hidden Glow series outfits the trio in a minimalistic color palette of matte grey and white. While these watches may seem laidback at first glance, turning the lights out reveals the bright green glow of the dial that was hiding in plain sight all along. https://www.highluxurystore.ru
Aside from the grey color palette and luminescent dial, G-SHOCK has equipped each of the three models with a negative digital display (i.e. black background, white numerals). There is a school of thought that has a very, well, negative, outlook on the brand’s negative dial display, claiming they aren’t as legible as the typical displays are. But in the context of this release, I will say that to my eye, the negative display just looks aesthetically cooler. Sorry, but it’s true. Is a little less legibility a fair trade-off to look significantly more cool? I would argue yes, in many if not most cases. Anyway, now that my little preamble is over, let’s get into the watches already. https://www.highluxurystore.ru
While the matte grey and luminescent white color palette is identical to other members of the Hidden Glow series, this model is crafted with G-SHOCKs eco-friendly bio-based resin materials, making it a touch more eco-conscious than its siblings. Though the GA2100 family is, like the model above, a contemporary design from G-SHOCK, its octagonal case shape makes it fit a bit more seamlessly into the brand’s heritage design archive, and its far-reaching popularity has also helped it become one of the brand’s most successful and most sought after modern creations. As far as specs go, you can rest assured that the GA2100HD-8A is complete with all of G-SHOCK’s quintessential timekeeping functions, and shock resistance, and is equipped with a battery life of up to three years. https://www.highluxurystore.ru
